Church Langton
Early in 2010, a friend asked how he could get hold of a small layout that could be lifted easily from shelf to table, and operated without complex setting up. I offered to make him one, and "Church Langton" was the result. It is set in the 1950s, in the downs just above the South Coast (where Craig remembers childhood holidays) and features a terminus station and two goods sidings, a camping coach and holiday caravan, a football game and some pigs in a field. The "hidden sidings" where trains are put on or off the layout, are at the front, where the operator sits. Stock and station nameboard are Southern Region – the sky is a cloudless blue – everything is blissful, as only happy memories can be...
Church Langton was completed and given to Craig just before Christmas 2010. And it measures just 4ft x 1ft. It made a rare appearance at the Braunstone show on November 5th 2011.
